What to look for when choosing window film

Darkness is not the only measure. Heat rejection, UV protection and legal limits should be weighed together.

Most people ask only "how dark?" when choosing window film, but the right decision rests on four things.

1. Tint level (VLT)

VLT is the percentage of visible light the film lets through. A lower value means darker glass. For both comfort and safety, especially at night, a very dark film reduces visibility.

2. Heat rejection

This decides how cool the cabin stays and is independent of darkness. Non-metallic films such as ceramic and carbon can reject heat well even in lighter tones.

3. UV protection

UV fades skin and interior trim (dashboard, leather) over time. Good films block most of it.

4. Regulations

There are legal visibility limits for front and side windows, and they can vary by car and type of use. A film outside the limit can cause trouble at inspection. That is why we recommend options that comply with current rules.

Installation quality

Even the best film leaves bubbles, dust and lifting edges when poorly installed. Clean glass and careful edge finishing decide the result.
